Tire Pressure Maintenance

Proper Tire Maintenance

Proper tire pressures are crucial to the efficient performance of our vehicles. If they are not set correctly it can cause all sorts of issues, including alignment problems, rough ride, bad fuel economy, uneven tire wear etc.

Some people seem to get confused when they go to fill their tires up and they set them to whatever the max psi is that is listed on the tire, that is actually not the correct thing to do, most vehicles have a sticker inside the driver’s door panel that will have the correct pressures for the front/rear/spare tires.

It is best to follow the recommended pressures unless you are modifying them for a specific driving style such as towing/off-road/drifting etc.

Certain conditions can affect tire pressure, the outside temperature being the main one. Normally, you can expect about 1psi less/more per 10 degrees in temperature.

When the temperature goes up, the air expands and raises pressure, when the temperature goes down, the air restricts and drops pressure. So you always want to set them when you have the vehicle in it’s most commonly used environment.

I like to keep a portable tire pressure gauge/inflator with me just in case I need to adjust things on the fly, or if I need air in an emergency situation, you can get your own here.

If you do not want a pump then you should at least be sure to keep a portable tire pressure gauge with you, most vehicles made after 2007 are equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system, but it is best to be prepared anyway, and portable inflators are actually pretty affordable.

Maintaining the correct tire pressure can save you a few bucks in non-wasted gasoline, and can also save you a couple hundred down the road if you don’t have to replace your tires due to premature wear caused by something as simple as inflation issues.

As always, have fun and stay safe!!

Wow. Thanks a lot for sharing this information with us. For several days this error appeared on the board.

Even though I put pressure on the wheels it didn’t go away and I started to worry. Reading your article I realized that I have to put the pressure that is recommended for my car and the dimensions of the wheels. I found this label stuck on the driver’s door, and so I introduced the pressure indicated here. Now the error is gone and everything is ok. Thank you very much!

Hey,I enjoy a lot while reading your guide and find it very helpful for everyone. As I see some people seem to get confused when they go to fill their tires up and they set them to what ever the max psi is that is listed on the tire, that is actually not the correct thing to do, most vehicles have a sticker inside the driver’s door panel. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, it is a great and nice feeling to know that someone will create a great website like this and also create a write up on an article like this. I have come across cases where people do not pay attention to the pressure of their car tires and it end up resulting in an accident. I would like to share this article with some of my friends

Hello there! This is amazing.  For me , I use a tire pressure gauge to make sure the tires have proper inflation pressure, and then fill the tires with sufficient air as needed.

Also I think drivers should understand that, keeping your tires at the maximum PSI could make them wear faster or compromise your traction or braking abilities. Thanks!

Very informative post on the importance of tire pressure and how to maintain the recommended tire pressure at all times. Usually an under inflated tire will increase fuel consumption and an over inflated tire will cause a bumpy ride. Some motorists have a tendency to slightly under-inflate the tires to improve the ride quality but it is not good for fuel fuel economy. Ideally it is better to maintain the manufacturer recommended tire pressures at all times.

Many thanks to you for sharing such an important topic with us about tire pressure. How important is the tire pressure for the vehicle unless you read the article.Depending on the tire pressure, any vehicle can avoid accidents. When it is hot, the impact of pressure inside the tire is greater. The tire’s distribution pressure must be kept to a certain extent so that the car can move at a certain speed. By reading Your article, I realized that I must have knowledge of the tire pressure for drivingIn this case.

I have real experience. I suffer one day due to a lack of proper tire pressure. So everyone should be aware of the tire pressure. That is why I want to share your article on social media so everyone can know about its requirements

Wow! Its really important  article.  Thank you so much for sharing this very significant article. I can say that maintain the tire pressure is an important factor for every driver. If you are not able to wear a tire properly, you will face many problems. Flexi circuit boards can be fitted to minimize tire pressure maintenanc.  Your article carries really important information. Thank you very much for writing this content and i will share this among my partners. Please share such important articles with us.
